Meet The Women of Mansoor Fine Jewelers
For nearly 40 years,Catherine Mansoor has provided clients of Mansoor Fine Jewelers not only the opportunity to purchase a work of art they will treasure a lifetime, but a link to a family tradition started in Cairo in 1904.
Catherine's grandfather, Mansoor Mansoor (yes...Mansoor Mansoor!) , established an antique and fine jewelry shop in
Egypt’s historic Shepheard’s Hotel, catering to international aristocracy at the turn of the 20th century. Her father, William, passed down his passion for objets d'art – and the stories behind them.
Catherine continues in their footsteps, bringing a unique aesthetic of her own, blending old with new, incorporating rich-colored stones (tourmaline, rubies, sapphires, coral, colored diamonds) and high karat gold. She’s also built relationships with designers and artists around the world to bring her clients unique pieces and custom work. “Seeing the joy on their faces when we help them find that perfect piece…and knowing they will treasure it for years to come…that’s what makes me happy.”

The History of Mansoor Fine Jewelers
While the Mansoor family has owned a jewelry and antique business nestled in the historic Ramona district of Palo Alto since 1963, the family tradition of offering fine art, antiques and jewels started in 1904 with a shop in Cairo’s historic Shepheard's Hotel, a hub for international commerce, European tourists and international aristocracy until it burned down in 1952.
When visiting the shop, take time to walk among the area’s history. Mansoor Fine Jewelers is located in the two-story Spanish Revival Las Bovedas building, designed by architect Birge Clark. A few shops down, you may rub elbows with the rich and famous who frequent Coupa Café. According to local lore, the Grateful Dead bought its first equipment in the music store across the street.The Mansoor family has long specialized in matching their unique clientele with pieces they will treasure a lifetime.
